5-UP WEB CUTTER - REYNOSA MEXICO
Up to five rolls of seat belt webbing are cut to length with hot knife cutters. An operator loads the desired number of rolls of webbing and guides each through a set of drive rollers. The loading sequence and cut to length are automated. The cell is controlled by an Allen Bradley SLC503 PLC with a Panelview 550 operator interface. An Electrocraft servo is used to control drive distance. Photo sensing is used for loading, splice detection and end of web sensing. The panel view is used to set web lengths, select web lanes, fault detection and various other diagnostics.

TILT STEERING MECHANISM - KITCHENER
A threaded shaft (with two parallel ground flat sides on the lead end) is driven through a tilt steering mechanism housing, with a Yaskawa servo motor. The shaft must be driven a preset distance through the housing and rotation must end up at zero or 180 degrees from the loading position. An LVDT is used to measure the distance and the servo determines rotation. The cell is controlled by an Allen Bradley SLC503 PLC with a Panelview 550 operator interface.

DOOR HINGE LINE - BRADFORD
This palletized line, which has twenty three automated stations and two manual loading stations, is used to assemble and test upper and lower car door hinges. The line is controlled with two C200HX Omron PLC's communicating with each other via controller link cards. The operator interface is an Omron NT30.

BOTTLE LOADER - MISSISSAUGA AND ATLANTA GA.
This machine loads plastic bottles from an exit conveyor on a blow molder into cardboard boxes. Grippers pick up ten bottles at a time and load a programmed number of rows and layers into a box. The empty boxes are loaded and unloaded automatically. The cell is controlled by an Allen Bradley SLC503 PLC with a Panelview 550 operator interface. Two Emerson servos on lead screws are used for row position and height. An Allen Bradley stepper card sends a pulse and direction signal to the servo controller for each axis. Teaching of position can all be done via the panelview.

FIREPLACE GRATE ASSEMBLY - ATLANTA GA.
Three cells, each controlled by an Allen Bradley SLC503 PLC with a Panelview 550 operator interface
CELL #1 - SHEAR
Ten twenty foot long steel bars are loaded manually. Each is automatically fed into the drive position. A Yaskawa servo is used to drive the bars into the shear where they are cut into various lengths to create a batch. One batch of bars will make one grate. After a batch is complete an exit conveyor indexes to separate the next batch. The cell will run a pre-selected number of batches. All data is entered through the touchscreen. New batch data is loaded automatically when a new batch is selected
CELL #2 -BENDER
Bars are manually loaded into the hydraulic press one batch at a time. The operator initiates the cycle via two opto-touch push buttons. All parts are bent and unloaded to an exit conveyor.
CELL #3 - WELDER
All of the pre-bent parts are manually loaded onto a welding fixture on a rotary table and the operator initiates the cycle. The rotary table indexes parts into the weld station. Two wire feed welders are moved horizontally with a servo motor and in to weld position with an air cylinder. Weld positions are taught via the Panelview. Each new batch has it's own weld positions and times. They are loaded automatically as the batch number changes.
